“Tick-tock on the clock . . .” It’s time to evaluate how your business works. Make changes and improvements to what you have in place now. When your small business can establish and implement a seamless workflow, the advantages are astounding. I came across a short read that made me want to let all small businesses know the importance of improving day-to-day tasks. It focused on four main areas that can help improve any business. The first one being, communications in real time. Your staff, clients, and vendors all have different needs and you have the power to utilize portals, software and various devices to meet those. Next, is task management. Know your tasks, how to prioritize them and the most efficient ways to complete them. Thirdly, take a look at your practice management. This includes allocating resources, time tracking and key performance indicators. Finally, put some thought into integrating systems. So much is out there, so pick what works for you. The article describes and gives suggestions for how technologies can benefit in all four areas. My sister and I have our favorites of course, but part of the fun is finding new things that work for others!
